A note from the co-founder
I am not the grants expert here. My co-founder is, after two decades inside this system. I came at it from the other direction: building things, and hearing the same complaint from everyone around me. Founders, researchers, people trying to spin a lab result out into a company.
They qualified. Almost none of them applied. Not because the money was not there, but because nobody had 200 hours to find the programme, read the criteria, and structure the argument the way an evaluator scores it. So it went to whoever could afford to pay someone to do that.
Grants8 is that someone, running continuously, for a fraction of what the someone costs. That is the whole company.

Innovation
We build the thing that did not exist rather than a faster version of the thing that did. Public funding has been administered the same way for thirty years.
Accuracy
A confident wrong answer costs someone a submission window they cannot get back. We would rather rule a programme out than pad a shortlist.
Inclusion
Eligibility should decide who gets public money, not who can afford a consultant to explain the form. Most of the organisations that qualify never apply.
Curiosity
Two thousand programmes, each with its own logic. Nobody masters that by memorising it; you stay interested or you stop being useful.
Why we price it this way
We are not against consultants. Several of the best ones send us clients. We are against a pricing model that takes a fifth of a small organisation's first win.
